Project Description

This is a free online educational resource for safe boating in the Port of NY & NJ. The project contains a 28 minute safety video describing the multi user environment of the Port of NY & NJ and 5 sub chapters: The Pilot, The Paddlers, The Sailors, The Motor Boaters and Operation Clear Channel.

John Rako

Producer

John Rako is an engineer with a PhD in physics. He is a veteran canoe and kayak instructor from he western New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania region. He has 30 years of photography and video experience and brings passion for the water, an unbridled optimism and leadership to the project.
Jeff Folmsbee

Director, Producer,
Shooter

Jeff Folmsbee makes documentaries for outlets such as PBS, Discovery Channel, A&E Networks and HBO. He spent 2 months at sea on a 73’ fishing trawler, shooting and producing the 3rd season of "Lobstermen" for The Discovery Channel. He has earned 39 Emmy Awards and 21 Cine Golden Eagles and each of his three documentary series at PBS has been honored by the Peabody Award, the most prestigious award in television.
Ray Fusco

Producer, Director of Marketing

Ray Fusco produces outdoor events in New York City and specializes in safety and logistics consulting for marine events in New York Harbor. He brings 10 plus years of New York maritime experience to the project and an in-depth knowledge of the diverse entities who live, work and play on these waters.
Pat La Morte

Producer

Pat La Morte is a nationally recognized digital media educator who developed two nationally recognized photography curriculums and authored the State of NJ VICA photo exam. He is a teacher of photography, video production, website design and multimedia applications.
